Wood Fusion is a new space at the fair that provides a creative, inspiring meeting place for visitors, says Anna Wennberg from Senab, who is in charge of the seminar programme.

Get inspiration at Wood Fusion

Three days packed with seminars, lectures and workshops on materials, manufacturing, trends and environmental aspects. Wood Fusion could become a creative Mecca for designers and manufacturers alike.

Materials meet machinery. Furniture concepts meet manufacturers. Everyone in the furniture and carpentry industry, as well as their suppliers, are welcome at Wood Fusion, the inspirational meeting place in Hall E.

Senab, an interiors company, is involved in aspects of Wood Fusion. For instance, the company is currently putting together a tasteful, interesting and creative seminar programme.

“We’ll hold seminars for three days, starting on Wednesday with an opening speech and press showing,” says Anna Wennberg from Senab. “There’ll also be mini workshops focusing on materials. Because Wood Fusion is a keyword at this year’s fair, there'll be strong focus on wood. But some other exciting materials will also be featured."

One of the attractions at Wood Fusion is an exhibition from the experimental course Wood in Progress with Light, a collaborative project between the School of Design and Craft at Göteborg University (HDK) and Kvarnen Studio in Mölndal.

Every afternoon, architects and designers will give lectures on the Senab stage, and moderator-led discussions will be held between special guests. Wood Fusion also encourages new creative forms of collaboration between researchers, designers, manufacturers and the market – a prerequisite for a thriving industry.

“We're targeting architects and graphic, technical industrial designers – the people who come up with the ideas. Researchers are also important. A lot is happening that may not reach manufacturers or even the people involved in drawing or design,” says Anna Wennberg.

Note: The concept and interior design for Wood Fusion were developed by Råvara Sverige and Kvarnen Studio in collaboration with the Swedish Exhibition Centre.
