Thoughts from some of the participating exhibitors at Student & Knowledge 2009

Gateway College
Norwegian-owned Gateway College offers university courses in exotic locations, from Australia, Bali, Brazil and Cuba to France, Mexico, South Africa and the US. In April this year, the college opened a branch in Sweden.

“Our concept is a bit different because we hire space at the respective universities, but we use our own course material and have Scandinavian teachers,” says Miranda Ericsson, Managing Director of Gateway College in Sweden.

Courses provided by the institute include some 30 basic courses in several subjects, including economics, languages, media, history, sports and music. This year, saw Gateway College at Student & Knowledge for the second time.

“We received a fantastic response and are very satisfied,” said Miranda. “We ran through all of 2,000 brochures at the fair. And not only that, we’ve also noted an enormous amount of activity on our web site, and enquiries have been flooding in. As I see it, we’ll be back for next year’s fair.”

The American University of Paris (AUP)
AUP, which was founded in 1962, is the oldest American university in Europe. Around 1,000 students, from about 100 countries, including some 20 from Sweden, are pursuing studies at the University. But after this year’s Student & Knowledge, the Swedish contingent could very well grow.

“We made lots of contacts and thirty-five people submitted serious enquiries. Which is very satisfactory from our point of view,” says Anna Törnqvist Camisao, Study Adviser at AUP.

Most of them were attracted by the psychology courses.

“Our teachers are world class, which explains the level of interest Student & Knowledge is the ideal fair for us, and I’m absolutely convinced that we’ll be back at next year’s event.”
