Tell us about the thought behind the Fusion projects?

We have noticed an increased demand for a better looking, more inspirational event to participate in. Our aim is for exhibitors and visitors to get as much out of it as possible. For them to feel like the industry, the engineering and the design is closer then ever before. The future is lurking around the corner and it’s all about speeding up the whole process. All the way from inspiration to the finished product.

And what about the future?

It’s all about networking. Not only in the Nordic countries, but to be able to get in contact with that one specific designer, distributor or that other key person you’re looking for in order to take your idea to another level.

What were the original ideas behind creating an arena for creators at industrial fairs?

Well, I think Fusion speaks for itself. Without ideas no new solutions for products and buildings will be developed. Without knowledge on what the industry can achieve we as designers or architects won’t know what we have to play with.

Are there any similarities between Material Fusion and Wood Fusion?

The ambition is the same - to get designers, architects and engineers to come to industrial fairs and to get the industry to start communication with those who create the future.

What do you hope will happen at Material Fusion?

I am personally looking forward to the seminar program. I think Mark will do a great job and make a good mix of speakers. And I am off- course eager to see what the room will look like in reality when it is actually built as well as checking out any new material or techniques.
