Trend turnaround for biggest packaging fair
Interest in Scanpack, 23-26 October, at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg, is greater than any time in a long time.
Scanpack is the biggest packaging fair in Scandinavia. And this year’s event will be the biggest so far in the 2000s, with even more space booked by even more exhibitors.
The economic crises and tougher competition of the past few years contributed to a drop in the number of exhibitors at Scandinavia’s largest packaging fair.
“However, despite the current economic situation and warning signals from the market, we have managed to reverse this negative trend,” says Anna Lena Friberg, Exhibition Manager, Scanpack. Anna Lena attributes the turnaround to two things: lots of hard work and the fact that Scanpack is a well-known, firmly established brand that always comes out a winner.
This year´s fair will cover almost 19,000 square metres, all of 1,000 square metres more than in 2009. With as many as 500 exhibitors on 330 stands.
It will place extra focus on innovations in packaging, smart packaging materials and sustainable development.
A lot of emphasis will also be placed on spotlighting packaging design, an aspect which now affects almost all industries.
“In view of this, you can imagine that we’re really pleased that the fair seminar programme will feature a whole raft of Europe’s leading designers from some of the biggest agencies in London, Paris and other design hot spots.”
